Organization Unit Business Partner in SAP CRM

Each Organizational Unit in SAP CRM is assigned a Business Partner. The business partner will automatically be created as soon as the org unit is created in [ PPOMA_CRM ] . However, in order for this to happen, a couple of configuration elements has to be put in place.

Step 1 : Define Number Ranges [ BUCF ]

Since these are not regular customers/business partners, define a new number range for these to avoid data consistency problems ( especially between ECC/CRM ). Go to BUCF or go to [ spro -> IMG ->Cross Application Components -> SAP Business Partner -> Business Partner -> Basic Settings -> Number Ranges and Groupings -> Define Number Ranges ]

Step 2 : Assign the Number Range to Business partner Grouping.

The menu path is the same [ spro -> IMG ->Cross Application Components -> SAP Business Partner -> Business Partner -> Basic Settings -> Number Ranges and Groupings -> Define Number Ranges -> Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges ]

Create a new grouping there – say Z5 and assign it to the number range Z5 created. Screenshot is Copyright© of SAP ® AG

Step 3 : Integrate BP Creation with Org Model

In this step we integrate BP Creation with the org model for new org unit creation. Go to [ spro -> IMG -> CRM -> Master Data -> BP -> Integrate BP – Org Management ]Screenshot is Copyright© of SAP ® AG

Set up the following entries. Please make sure that you substitute the entry HRALX-OSUBG to the BP Grouping that you created in Step 2.

Group/Attr Value
HRALX – HRAC X
HRALX – OBPON ON
HRALX – ONUMB 2
HRALX – OSUBG Z5
