Can a Java Class be Declared as Private ?

A standard Java Classes can ONLY be

  • Package-Private ( OR )
  • public

So, a Java Class CANNOT be declared as private.

The ONLY exception to this is a Nested Class ( Including Inner Classes in Java ). A nested Class can be declared as private. Learn more about Java Inner Classes or Java nested Classes .
